Amsterdream

Winter break finally came! My parents were thinking about skiing but there was no snow. And because we didn't want to spend this time at home, i told them "it's time to visit Amsterdam!" And i had to plan this trip. I was looking for not bad, cheap hotel. I found many but we choosed this one because my mum's friend was there once. We booked it for 2 nights. On saturday at 11 am we left house. We had 7 hours long travel to Minden, Germany. And, like always, we had some adventures- car problems. We stayed for one night at friend's house in Minden.
Second day of the trip- we were ready to drive at 8am. But we spent two hours fixing the car problems. FIRST LESSON TO LEARN: Don't travel by car!

We came to Amsterdam at 2pm. We had problems with a parking but we found one parking area near the central station, 15 minutes by walk from our hotel. When we told people in our hotel that we came here by our own car, they were surprised. Most of tourists travel by aeroplane etc.

On the first day in the city of bikes, we got little lost, but with a map (which you can get for free in almost every hotel) we visited the flower market, beautiful streets and the Red light district. Before 9pm we were back in hotel. It was a hard day because of the travel.

The next day, we woke up at 8am, and we left our hotel few minutes after 9am. Firstly, we went to the Anne Frank House, because we were scared that we will have to wait hours in queue. But it wasn't that bad- we've been waiting only 15 minutes. It's not allowed to take photos there. This museum is not expensive and worth seeing. I've been intersted in Anne Frank's history earlier and i really wanted to visit this house and see this story from the inside. Very touching experience. Then we had to work with a map. Amsterdam is such a nice place for people who are there for the first time. Wherever you are, you can easily find your location. It was sunny when we got to Museumplein. So many people were in front of the "I AMsterdam"sign. It's a place which you have to visit. Then my parents went to the cafe while i was in the Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum. Both are free under 18 years old and both are amazing. I liked them a lot. But if you are not keen on art you will probably get bored there.

Walking on the streets of Amsterdam is wonderful. There are a lot of different people-residents and tourists. All buildings are so similiar and it looks fine. I would visit Amsterdam again even only for watching this, watching this town's life. At the eveing we went to the red light district again for longer. The city looked so gloriously also at night.

Before leaving the city i went to few vintage shops. It was like visiting museums.
We left Amsterdam at 1pm and we were back at home at 11pm. We didn't stayed anywhere for the sleep in our way back.
It was a short trip but there is something amazing about this city that you wanna get back there as fast as it's possible. I loved it and i'm so happy that i finally set foot on the Dutch ground.

I hope you like it. Another post about my short trip to Berlin soon,
see ya!
