Bornholm in one day.

Traveling is the best! Even for a day. Just like that, I was on one day trip to Bornholm. Bornholm is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea. I got there by catamaran called "Jantar" from Kołobrzeg. It took 4 hours to get there. The ship was terribly rocking. If you have seasickness you should be prepared for it.

We arrived at 11 AM. My parents bought a bus trip so we get into the bus. However the best way to explore this island is traveling by bike. It's very adapted for bicycles. You can take your bike on the catamaran and rent room for three nights. I think i'll do it next time.

We had bus in Nexø. We weren't sightseeing this city at first. The first city where we stopped was Svaneke. There is an Old Street where we walked. You can buy there Svaneke's chocolate which is made and packed in the same place where they selll it. It's a pretty nice shop. 9 years old girl said "I would love to have job like that!" when she saw a man making chocolate. Then we got to Svaneke Bolcher - shop where you can buy sweets in many tastes! They also make it by themselves and they sell it in the same place. I really like those sweets. But watch out for the black ones - it's licorice. Scandinavians really like them but many people think this taste is horrid. In the other shop we had an opportunity to see how to make glass decorations etc. We also saw the place where are Chicken Shitting competition. You may ask "What?!". It's kind of hazard. People bet on which number the chicken will poop. If you are interested, here's the link. That's weird kind of game but it sounds funny.

Through the window i saw cities like Listed, Gudhjem,Tejn, Alinge but we only stopped to visit Hammershus. There are Castle ruins and probably the best ice creams in Bornholm! In souvenirs shop the seller even learnt polish words because there are so many tourists from here.

In Nylars we saw the island's second largest church. It's a 12th-century round church.

Later we went back to Nexø. There we bought some souvenirs, jellies and Bornholm's food specialties. On the catamaran we were back at 6pm. I think it was a very good trip but too short.

It's my third well done trip in this summer. I really liked this island, it looks really interesting and amazing. Day after this trip I traveled to Kashubian area in Poland - i'll write about it soon!

See ya! Have a good summer!
